Video: EMVC's Melissa Frakman in conversation with Medici's Amit Goel on Opportunities in WealthTech
Individual wealth in India is expected to grow at a 13.5% CAGR and reach $10Tn by 2024. With less than 10% of Indians having exposure to the stock market, founders are building some strong companies to make investing easy and intutive for the remaining 90% by offering them tailor made investment advise digitally. According to a recent PwC fintech report, the total assets under management (AUM) in the Indian robo—advisors segment is estimated to grow at a CAGR of 36.2% from USD 42mm in 2019 to USD 145mm in 2023.
EMVC Managing Partner Melissa Frakman spoke to founders and VCs at Medici Global’s flagship Weekend Wisdom series about the opportunities in WealthTech in India. She shared insights on the emerging trends in tier 1 India and mass market Bharat while also drawing contextual comparisons with the US WealthTech startups. The conversation covers discount broking platforms, personal finance management apps, neobanks, account aggregators and how they are evolving to change the wealth management landscape in India.
